There is a point of negative return with big tires. Also, well maintained drums work fine and it is actually cheaper to manufacture disk brakes.

Too critical of drum brakes. If they are fresh, high quality and properly adjusted, bled and maintained, they are ok. Not the best, sure. But they are safe and legit.

😮 That's right. In fact don't run any kind of electronic crap . Carburators work better b we because they have venturise, are much less likely to failure @10 yrs. Beyond the date of purchase. And can be easily rebuilt. T same by goes for your ignition system. To many circuits mean short's are coming to ruin your day. Usually in t CPU $$$$$. Have fun finding one of those things in t wrecking yard that's worth buying 10yrs later.

He's the "car guy" that's gonna tell you how you should build your classic car, I say do what you want with your own car, it's your car and your money and nobody should tell you or try to persuade you to change what your trying to achieve. But I do find it funny that he thinks putting 50 pounds of dynamat in your several thousand pound car is gonna make a difference with power loss, fuel mileage and handling. And he talks about changing out and converting all of these expensive parts and components to make it handle and perform like a race or rally car but then tells you to keep the motor stock. I genuinely don't see a point to this video.

I have an interesting notion which I heard about occurring when the Granatellis (of Paxton Products) back when they were working on Studebaker R3 engines (1962 & 1963). There were Studebaker cylinder heads with a larger bore circle than the block. It appears as if someone at Paxton used a half-round file and "scalloped" the top of the block where the valves would have interfered, making it so they could clear. Could this not be done today to clear a 4" bore block for 4.125" bore heads? It was successfully achieved in the 1960s but "Studebaker" so that's why it's been under the radar this whole time.

My dad put some oversize tires on his 67 Cougar and it hydroplaned horribly @ 50 mph in the rain. Unplanned lane changes were the norm. He traded it to a dealer and the new owner put it into a cornfield a week later.

First of all there's two different LS1 blocks for instance 2002 Corvette 5.7 L LS1... 2002 Corvette ZO6 5.7L LS6... totally different blocks but very similar.. literally the 5.7 LS6 block is thicker... I heard the 241 heads that there's two sides of them.. all the era and the newer revised era.. I'm not totally sure about the headset up being different... which I'm very curious about... Corvettes with a 5.7 rotating assembly 1 which is the Z06 has a more aluminum material in the block... so definitely two very similar aluminum blocks in the Corvettes... so I've seen people say oh the HP limit on a build have a 5.7.. aluminum block is limited... yep all depends on the era of the 5.7 aluminum LS block

Very interesting indeed! Thanks, that clears up a lot of confusion. The powerglide was great for neutral drops.... couldn't kill it. Whatever the Chevette had in it (probably a TH200)? could go 60 mph full throttle and then into reverse where it would skid to zero mph and then start kindly backing up. (video on my channel) Got a Vette original footage). Thanks again.

This video has given me some ideas for my 77 which I am planning to restore body to a 70 1/2, find a wrecked or cheap 6th gen to use the suspension and drive train... hopefully looking a little like the Roadster Shop Rampage on completion. I'm sure it will cost me into the 6 figures and a few years of my time.

I like the 4 valves per cylinder with the Ford, but with variable cam timing and direct injection, reliability suffers. On my Mustang, I deactivated the variable cam nonsense when I installed Comp cams. I believe the Chevy guys do the same

I will add a couple of negatives of the LS. 1: must pull the head off just to change a lifter (which seem to fail very regularly). compounded by 2: the weak arse threads fail on the alloy block when pulling the heads. After having my 3rd thread fail, I have sold my ls and gone back to a small block.

I’m a ford man the LT engine wins hands down on aftermarket parts and simplicity works better for me better engine size for a more universal engine in fitment across different models.. yeah over head cam is good but LS LT push rod is just as good I say ford needs to stop trying to make Ferrari engines bring it back to the good Old basics 351 Windsor and Cleveland cubic inch talks how about ford remakes the Windsor but this time put proper heads on it …. Chev has won this party 🎉 for me 😎 ford needs to wind 💨 it back to Reality bring back the pushrod engine and make money on aftermarket race parts again

Flow through the valves isn’t dictated by the surface area of the opening but rather the curtain area (circumference X lift). Generally a smaller valve can move more quickly (and further) than a larger valve.
